A few years ago, I had the opportunity to give back though artwork to an orphanage in Honduras
High in the mountains north of Tegucigalpa, I undertook painting a huge cement-block wall; my ‘sombrero’ to block the heat of the hot Central American Sun
I had to use found or donated paint, the assistance of many, and most important, had the help of my young daughter to cover the many sections of wall with the bright murals
Simple designs held multiple meanings for the children living within the safety of the walls
(yes, gunshots were heard outside multiple times)
It was a beautiful, creative and inspiring time and I was the one that left with the gift.
I am so excited to embark on another journey in just a few months to paint again on
foreign soil with my daughter
& I know that I will be the lucky one again!
